Things go downhill quickly after Jesus had spent time at the Passover table with His disciples. Jesus laid out some important truths but now betrayal, mockery, unjust punishment, and false accusations fill the atmosphere. Jesus has been at a position of strength for so long but now it seemed to not be so.

Jesus earlier spoke to Peter about him denying Jesus. Now becomes reality. In a short time, Peter denies Jesus three times. “Peter then denied again; and immediately a rooster crowed.“ John 18:27

Peter had been outspoken prior to this. Seemingly, the leader of this rag-tag bunch throughout their journeys. Peter was the one who responded to Jesus when most walked away from Him, ”But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”“ (John 6:68-69). Now, in a moment he denies Jesus.

Most likely, we’ve had many times where we’ve been outspoken about Jesus. At other times maybe when we’re not in a position of strength we don’t proclaim Jesus. Much like Peter.

Today, let’s ask the Lord for strength to proclaim Him in all situations. Whether or not it’s convenient or beneficial for our better let’s be disciples who proclaim the name of Jesus. IN EVERY SITUATION.
