Jesus wept. - John 11:35

Say it out loud! You did it. You memorized a verse in the Bible. I’m so proud of you :)

Seriously though… consider these two words. A sermon could be preached for hours on these two words. But here’s what I ask you to consider.

Jesus wept! Jesus. God. Our Savior. The One who has no beginning or no end. He is the Alpha and Omega, and we find Jesus weeping in response to Mary. Don’t miss that. He felt the troubling pain of loss and hurt. He felt it Himself. ”For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.“ Hebrews 4:15

The next time you’re hurting, remember He did too. Next time you’re in pain, remember He was too. Next time you’re burdened, betrayed, misunderstood, rejected… fill in the blank… He was too. And in those times, He found strength in His Father. Remember Jesus felt just like you or me, but He always ran to His Father and so should we! Run to the Father when these things are upon you. Run to Him not away from Him.
