Let me encourage you to read daily. As we're faithful to read the Lord develops a deeper trust in Him.
Joel was an earlier prophet who prophesied right after Obadiah (@835BC). This was right after a horrible situation w/Athaliah (Read 2 Kings 8-11).
Joel describes the Lord's judgment on Judah, "What the gnawing locust has left, the swarming locust has eaten; And what the swarming locust has left, the creeping locust has eaten; And what the creeping locust has left, the stripping locust has eaten." Joel 1:4
He also says, "It has made my vine a waste And my fig tree splinters..." Joel 1:7
Joel also endured this judgment even though he was obedient to the Lord, but he didn't let this change his heart for the Lord.
Sometimes things happen we don't understand or like, but lets not let this change our trust and obedience in the Lord. Jesus said, "...for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous." Matt 5:45
Maybe you are going thru hell right now? Stand firm in the Lord. Reflect on all the Lord has brought you thru. Don't allow the enemy to discourage you from knowing who He is and what He's been doing in your life and heart.
