Hold Fast!

In Job 6:14-15, Job, in his anguish, responds to his friend: "To him who is afflicted, kindness should be shown by his friend, even though he forsakes the fear of the Almighty. My brothers have dealt deceitfully like a brook, like the streams of the brooks that pass away."

Job is in deep pain, yet faces accusations instead of compassion. As we read through the book of Job, we're reminded time and again of the need for steadfast faith amid trials.

Consider the question, "What would Jesus do?" In Revelation 2-3, Jesus addresses the seven churches, and the only one He doesn't correct is the church of Philadelphia. Despite persecution, they remained faithful. Jesus encouraged them, saying, "Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown" (Revelation 3:11).

Let's encourage one another to hold fast in difficult times. Hardships don't only come to the wicked-they touch us all. In these moments, let's hold fast and uplift those walking through dark times to do the same!

To know Jesus. To live on mission.
