Thank You, Lord!
What's one thing you've thanked God for this week? I'm sure we can all think of something-there's so much to be grateful for!
Reading through Job 2, it's clear that gratitude didn't come easily for Job. He had already lost so much, and now his suffering deepened with declining physical health. The Bible describes him scraping his painful boils with a broken piece of pottery, so disfigured that his friends barely recognized him. As a righteous man, Job must have struggled to understand why he faced such trials. We might ask the same question in our own hardships: Why is this happening to me? Yet, Job declares, "Shall we accept good from God and not adversity?" (Job 2:10).
In the midst of unprovoked trials, Job raises a profound question. It's easy to thank God for the blessings in our lives, but what about when times are tough-especially when we feel we've done nothing to deserve it? Today, whether you're in good times or hard times, what can you thank God for?
