His heart.
Jeremiah continues ministering to Israel with some pretty hard truths, likening Israel's sin to adultery within a marriage. The Lord had sent many to minister to His people, yet they continued to reject Him. But we must not miss the Lord's heart in the midst of their rebellion and unrepentance.
Jeremiah writes on behalf of the Lord: "And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding." Jeremiah 3:15
The Lord calls His people to turn back to Him. He tells them it is not too late. He even speaks of how He will restore them.
What a picture of the Lord's heart! Even in the midst of rejection, His heart is one of love, care, compassion, mercy, and grace.
After years of rejecting the Lord, His desire for His people to return to Him remains clear. And His heart has not changed. He is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore.
Each day, we are offered more of Him. We are given another opportunity to turn away from the things that are less important and turn toward the One who matters most. We are invited to experience His presence in the midst of our everyday lives.
Are you truly submitted to Him in every area of your life? Are you holding onto something instead of holding onto the Lord?
Like Israel, we are given opportunities to turn back to Him. Will you take them, or will you let them pass by?
He is calling you today to turn toward Him. To seek more of Him than you did yesterday.
Oh, Lord, stir our hearts for more of You. Help us to see clearly who is most important and what truly matters. Draw us closer to You and give us hearts that are fully surrendered to You. In Jesus' name, Amen!
