Humble. Humility. Honesty.

Isaiah shares a word from the Lord concerning the Babylonians. At this time, Babylon was a great superpower in the world. Today, only remnants remain in modern-day Iraq, showing what once was.

Isaiah writes about what they said in their hearts: ""For you have trusted in your wickedness; You have said, 'No one sees me'; Your wisdom and your knowledge have warped you; And you have said in your heart, 'I am, and there is no one else besides me.'" Isaiah 47:10

Babylon thought they would always be a superpower, but they were eventually humbled before the Lord. In their pride, they missed what is true and forgot who truly holds all life in His hands.

What is your mindset today? Where is your heart?

Our minds and hearts are a battlefield. We can easily convince ourselves that we are wise, that we are right, or even that we are pure. But the truth is, our knees should bow before the Lord, and our dependence should be on Him.

That is not a sign of weakness. Drawing close to the Lord and recognizing our need for Him is a sign of strength.

So let's walk humbly before the Lord. Let's demonstrate humility toward others. And let's choose honesty as we follow Christ, being honest about who we are, honest about our need for Him, and honest about where our hearts truly are.
