"Take off the blinders, Father"
Many declarations are made throughout Isaiah. The prophets proclaimed Him, history has confirmed Him, and transformed lives continue to testify that God is real and that He is exactly who He says He is. Yet there have always been those who reject Him, and there always will be.
The Lord declares through Isaiah: "Bring out the blind people who have eyes, And the deaf who have ears. Let all the nations be gathered together, And let the people be assembled. Who among them can declare this, And show us former things? Let them bring out their witnesses, that they may be justified; Or let them hear and say, "It is truth."" Isaiah 43:8-9
The evidence points to the Creator, the One and Only God. His fingerprints are everywhere. Yet some still deny Him, and that reality is heartbreaking.
At the beginning of this chapter, Isaiah reminds us that the Lord created us, formed us, and desires to redeem us. That is His heart. And it should become ours.
So today, let's pray.
Pray for those in your life who reject the Lord. Pray for those who have become blind to His truth or deaf to His voice. Pray for those who believe Jesus is only for the weak. Ask God to soften hearts while there is still time.
If we have truly experienced the grace of God, we shouldn't be content for others to remain without it. Even the hardest heart is someone Christ died for. I wouldn't wish eternity apart from Him on anyone.
