Restore. Reconcile.

Isaiah prophesies about a future time when restoration will come to the nation of Israel. At the time, the people were unrepentant and rebellious toward the Lord, but God had other plans.

Isaiah writes:

"Those who come He shall cause to take root in Jacob; Israel shall blossom and bud, And fill the face of the world with fruit." Isaiah 27:6

Once desolate and emptied by their adversaries, Israel would experience the Lord's restoration and reconciliation. This is the heart of God toward Israel, and it is His heart toward us as well. His desire is always restoration and reconciliation.

What about us?

Do we seek restoration and reconciliation with others? Israel's heart had turned away from the Lord, but that did not stop Him from loving them or desiring His best for them.

This is the heart of the Lord, and it is the heart He desires us to have toward others.

Today, ask the Lord to stir within you a heart for reconciliation and restoration toward that person or those individuals He brings to mind. Take a step of faith. Make the phone call. Send the message. Trust the Lord with restoration and reconciliation.
