Isaiah writes:
"You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, For in YAH, the Lord, is everlasting strength." Isaiah 26:3-4
Ah, how much peace in our hearts is connected to where our minds are fixed. Our hearts and minds are meant to work together. The heart can be led astray, and the mind can wander into fears and thoughts that God has never spoken.
Scripture declares that the person whose mind is fixed on the Lord and who trusts in Him will experience perfect peace; not just peace, but perfect peace.
Let's ask ourselves these questions today:
Do you love the Lord with all your heart, mind and soul? (Matt 22:37)
Are you setting your affections on earthy or heavenly things? (Colossians 3:1-11)
Are you forgetting what you need to forget and holding on to what you need to hold on to? (Philippians 3:12-16)
Meditate on the Lord today. Read these passages and set your mind on Him. Direct your heart toward worship, and walk in His perfect peace, because He is faithful to provide it.
