Forgotten.

Isaiah makes a proclamation against Damascus and Israel. Through Isaiah's words we see a people who had once had the Lord at the center of their lives.

But Isaiah writes: "Because you have forgotten the God of your salvation, And have not been mindful of the Rock of your stronghold, Therefore you will plant pleasant plants And set out foreign seedlings; In the day you will make your plant to grow, And in the morning you will make your seed to flourish; But the harvest will be a heap of ruins In the day of grief and desperate sorrow." Isaiah 17:10-11

Where is the Lord at in your life today? Is He truly at the center? Or, like these folks, have you forgotten the God of your salvation?

My prayer is not only for you, but for all of us: if Christ is not at the center of our lives, may the Lord lovingly reveal it. Sometimes when the work of our hands fails to produce the fruit we hoped for, it is God's gracious call to return to Him. What we often view as disappointment may actually be an invitation back to worship.

Today, may we turn our hearts back to the Lord. May the story of our lives flow from a genuine worship of our Savior, and may everything we do be rooted in remembering the One who has saved us.
