Looking forward...
Paul told the believer: "Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:12-14
The biggest tactic of the enemy of our souls is to remind us of our yesterdays and to paint a bleak picture of our tomorrows. If we can settle in the truth of our completeness and inheritance the Father has promised us in Christ it will transform our today.
Isaiah shares of what is promised: "Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, And faithfulness the belt of His waist. "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, The leopard shall lie down with the young goat, The calf and the young lion and the fatling together; And a little child shall lead them. The cow and the bear shall graze; Their young ones shall lie down together; And the lion shall eat straw like the ox. The nursing child shall play by the cobra's hole, And the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper's den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord As the waters cover the sea. "And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, Who shall stand as a banner to the people; For the Gentiles shall seek Him, And His resting place shall be glorious."" Isaiah 11:5-10
Father, today help us to walk in the truth of who we are in You and all You promise. Help us to worship You and live in that worshipful mindset. Thank You for loving us. Amen.
