The world has a menu of offerings that will never satisfy. Anything offered from this world is only temporary and will leave one dry and empty. But the heavenly promise will never end and will never leave one empty.

“Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,” Hebrews 8:1

Jesus was the main point of the last chapter. Now, we are reminded that He sits at the right hand of the throne of Majesty because His work is finished, He has defeated sin and death.

We go on to read the New Covenant which was prophesied hundreds of years before was put into effect because of Jesus. The New Covenant provides inward transformation not change from outward regulation (verse 10), a deeper intimacy with God (verse 10), offered from the least to the greatest (it has no socioeconomic bounds) (verse 11), and offers complete forgiveness of sins once and for all (verse 12).

Let that minister to you… it sure is ministering to me this am! “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”” Hebrews 8:12

Sometimes we just need to preach the gospel to ourselves. To remind ourselves of this wonderful grace, mercy, and love offered from the Father. It is His greatness that softens even the hardest of hearts.

Thank you, Father, I needed to hear this again today. I am grateful for Your mercy. I am grateful for the reminder You have forgiven and forgotten my sins. I am grateful for Your grace in my life. I come afresh to you this morning saying, thank You, thank You, thank You! In Jesus name, Amen.
