Simple truth… tonight trying to explain Hebrews 5 to Eli and Tristan while Tucker played in the background, we looked at 3 words. In Hebrews 5 we read, “While Jesus was here on earth, he offered prayers and pleadings, with a loud cry and tears, to the one who could rescue him from death. And God heard his prayers because of his deep reverence for God. Even though Jesus was God’s Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered. In this way, God qualified him as a perfect High Priest, and he became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey him. And God designated him to be a High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.” Hebrews 5:7-10

1-Pleadings
2-Suffered
3-Eternal Salvation

How simple but profound is this truth:

Jesus, the Son of God pleaded. He pleaded with a loud cry and tears to the Father for us even though we didn’t deserve it.

Jesus, the Son of God suffered. He suffered through humiliation, betrayal, pain, and injustice for us even though we didn’t deserve it.

Why did Jesus plead and suffer? So, we could have eternal salvation. So, you and I could live for eternity with our Creator. Jesus pleaded and suffered. It’s simple but profound. Do you realize God pleaded on our behalf? Suffered more than we ever will? Just so we could spend eternity with Him. It’s amazing… and it should change how we live our lives. Love you!
