Making the case for faith…

I’m thankful for the chapters and verses but we need to remember this was a letter. The letter was written to Jewish people who had left behind Judaism and turned to Jesus. We read in Hebrews 10:22-23, “let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful;” Hebrews 10:22-23

They were being warned to stay in the faith as some had turned back to religious principles as a means to be saved. We then come to chapter 11 which is full of men and women who had remained in faith for the promise to come. Example after example speaks of some deep truths.

Faith isn’t easy. Jesus never said it would be. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things unseen. I’m not sure anytime I’ve ever stepped out in faith has been easy, but it ALL has been worth it. What is the Lord calling you to right now? It could be just to remain faithful in a difficult season. For others it could be stepping out in faith to serve the Lord in a deeper way, praying with an unbeliever, sharing your faith with a friend of family member… no matter what it may be let us remember, “Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe;” Hebrews 12:28
