What does the Bible say? Not my opinion or anyone else’s. We either live by the ever-changing truths of the world or take the Word of God as truth.

“let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:22-23

In verse 19 we are told to enter into His presence in boldness by the blood of Jesus. During the days of Moses, a priest could only be from a certain tribe (Levi). The priest would need to offer a sacrifice. Then confess his sins over a scapegoat which would be let go and the other sacrificed, wash his body, wear a certain holy garment, and blood would need to be sprinkled according to Leviticus 16. This is a paraphrase of what needed to be done but let me assure you it was extensive and even then, if not regarded properly the priest may die when he went into the presence of the Lord in the Holy of Holies.

‘By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy; And before all the people I must be glorified.” Leviticus 10:3 partial

Jesus made it possible to come into the presence of the Father by dying on the cross of Calvary, by shedding His blood. Not because of anything we do but because of everything He did. When we recognize what a great gift has been given us to it should draw us to worship. We have sinned, are not perfect yet now because of redemption in Christ can come into the presence of a Holy God!

“By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” Hebrews 10:10

Don’t neglect His presence, don’t take lightly His gift to us. It is something to be adored and it is something that should draw us to worship. Have you worshiped Him today? Have you spent time in His presence?

“Father, forgive me for taking lightly what You have given so generously. Refresh my heart to Your holiness and allow my worship to glorify You to the fullest. In Jesus name, amen!”
