We got to read about the exiles waiting to rebuild the house of the Lord while dealing with opposition. Now, we get to read from the letter of the prophet himself, Haggai.

Look at what the Lord is warning the exiles about, "Consider your ways! You have sown much, but harvest little; you eat, but there is not enough to be satisfied; you drink, but there is not enough to become drunk; you put on clothing, but no one is warm enough; and he who earns, earns wages to put into a purse with holes."" Hag 1:5-6

Regardless of their circumstances the Lord spoke to their heart of apathy towards Him. They were busy with life and had forgotten to put the Lord first.

A question we all need to consider: Is the Lord first, most important to us? We all go thru seasons and I'm not sure any of us can answer that question with a yes in every season of life. But where does that question find you now. Is the Lord first, most important to you?

Today, we are His house. Holy Spirit dwells in every believer. Spending time with the Lord and in His Word is a good way to keep his house straight. And a good way to love others and lead others to Jesus. Let's make Him most important.
