The same truth is weaved thru the entire Bible. Live and love!

Right before Israel would go into captivity to Babylon the Lord told them, "Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf; for in its welfare you will have welfare.'" Jer 29:7

In the New Testament Paul writes to the church, "Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God." 2 Cor 5:20

And here we have Joseph seeking the good will of Egypt. He was being an ambassador of the Lord and His goodness. Not only Joseph but also his father, Jacob, "And Jacob blessed Pharaoh, and went out from his presence." Gen 47:10

When we receive Christ, we're no longer citizens of whatever city or country we may live but we're now citizens of heaven. We represent Christ and His Kingdom. So, we seek the best for our temporary homes on our journey to our eternal home. We must remember there's a greater kingdom we live for and a greater King we love for... so let's represent the goodness and long suffering of the Lord. Let's live and love for the glory of God!
