Not this time! The cycle doesn't have to continue.
When Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers Reuben wanted to save him but didn't stand up for Joseph when the time was right. They all held onto this mistake for years, even more Reuben. He said, "Did I not tell you, 'Do not sin against the boy'; and you would not listen? Now comes the reckoning for his blood." Gen 42:22
We can see Reuben understood he was wrong. When they returned to their father, he is the one who says, "You may put my two sons to death if I do not bring him back to you; put him in my care, and I will return him to you." Gen 42:37
He knew he had made a mistake and desired not to repeat it. We don't have to stay in the cycle of poor decisions. Just because we made a bad decision(s) doesn't mean we have to keep making bad decisions. Don't let past poor decisions stop you from choosing to make good decisions today. Today is the day to put your trust in the Lord. That's a good decision. Today make choices for the Lord's Kingdom. Good decisions! Today follow Jesus by choosing His way, not your own. Pray for someone. Help someone in need. All good decisions you can make today.
