Life changing truth today! Jesus said, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32

When we turn to the word and see the truth of how the Father works in our lives, internalizing those truths give us freedom to live then out. That’s life changing. Freedom!

Joseph had been hated by his brothers, thrown into a pit, sold in slavery, his character assaulted by lies, and put into prison. I am not sure about you, but I am wondering how much complaining I would have been doing that this point? What type of negative outlook I would have on life, walking around with a ‘woe is me mentality’. What do we find Joseph doing?

“And Joseph came in to them in the morning and looked at them, and saw that they were sad. So he asked Pharaoh’s officers who were with him in the custody of his lord’s house, saying, “Why do you look so sad today?” Genesis 40:6-7

He was concerned about someone else’s sadness. Not only that but was willing bless them by interpreting their dreams. What? Don’t miss this!

#1 - Joseph didn’t let his troubled past to determine his present and further steps.

#2- Joseph’s willingness to have an impact on the person in front of him set him up to have a greater impact down the road.

Joseph said “Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell them to me, please.”” Genesis 40:8b

Joseph was ready and willing to serve the Lord and to give Him the glory. He knew who God was and he made sure others did as well. It didn’t matter how they responded; Joseph knew what he was to do. He also knew that his past wasn’t the focus and that he was called to serve the person in front of him that day. The value of his life wasn’t determined by his circumstances and the impact he would make wasn’t determined by his seeming captivity.

What will you do today with this truth? The Father has given it to you? Will you walk in it? You never know the how deep the impact will be when you just serve the person in front of you for the glory of God. Don’t let your past or current circumstances to determine your day or tomorrow.
