During a conversation I was having with a brother the other day, we were talking about some things I was handling. The statement was made, “I am not giving you the credit for that, it could have only been the Lord”. How true that is!

Read these verses and see if you can recognize the pattern:

“The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man;...

And his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all he did to prosper in his hand.

...that the LORD blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the LORD was on all that he had in the house and in the field.

But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.

The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under Joseph’s authority, because the LORD was with him; and whatever he did, the LORD made it prosper.” Genesis 39:2-3, 5, 21, 23

Have you ever thought about how and Egyptian man knew that the Lord was with Joseph? How the keeper of the prison recognized the Lord was with Joseph?

Not only did Joseph live for the Lord but he also gave credit to the Lord. Egyptians didn’t have a working knowledge of Yahweh, the God of Abraham, the God of the Israelites. They served other gods, yet Potiphar saw that the Lord was with him.

Do people see that God is with you? That your live is being lived for the glory of God?

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1

“And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.” Ephesians 5:2

Haha, just a thought. What if we wore a shirt that had, “FOR THE GLORY OF GOD” on it? How would people respond to the shirt in how you interacted at the grocery store? Bank? Work? School? Practice? Fill in that blank where you go every day. Would people celebrate the Lord? Or would they suggest you take the shirt off. Convicting for sure in my own life, let’s today live for the glory of God. If we say that we have put our trust in Jesus, that we follow Him, then let’s live like it. If this is challenging and you want to pray together, let me know. Shoot me a text, but let’s LIVE FOR THE GLORY OF GOD, that’s what He has called us to do!!’
