"Where is God in the trials of life?" is a question many ask. At times even we ask this, maybe even today.

"They said to one another, "Here comes this dreamer! Now then, come and let us kill him and throw him into one of the pits; and we will say, 'A wild beast devoured him.' Then let us see what will become of his dreams!"" Gen 37:19-20

This chapter is full of family struggles. Israel shows favoritism leading to envy, fighting, pride, revenge, hatred, and betrayal. It could be hard to see God at work at times.

Even when sin is rampant God is still at work. Later in Genesis Joseph tells his brothers, "As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive." Gen 50:20

Redemption eventually takes place. Hearts and relationships are restored. It may have seemed bleak in this moment, but the Lord was, AND IS, faithful! Don't let your present circumstance make you doubt the Lord's goodness and faithfulness. Praise Him in the good times and bad. He's faithful even when we're not. He's mighty to save. His goodness is everlasting. He's faithful indeed!
