Living in the ‘in between’. Anything I put before my God is an idol. Anything I want with all my heart is an idol. And anything I can't stop thinking of is an idol. And anything that I give all my love is an idol.

Jacob had heard from the Lord multiple times at this point. He had wrestled with Him. He had saw the Lord come through in areas of his life and we read, “And Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, “Put away the foreign gods that are among you, purify yourselves, and change your garments. Then let us arise and go up to Bethel; and I will make an altar there to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and has been with me in the way which I have gone.”” Genesis 35:2-3

Sometimes we too can live in the ‘in between’. We worship the Lord, we hear from Him, yet we still haven’t put away things from our previous life before we made the decision to follow Christ. But now is the time, today... wait no longer. Ask yourself this question right now, Is there anything I put before my God? Is there anything I want with all my heart? Is there anything I can't stop thinking of? Is there anything that I give all my love too?

These things are idol. There should be nothing before Him. Allow God to expose those things in your life and choose today to lay them down and follow the Lord wholeheartedly. As we strip these things from our lives, our lives don’t become emptier, they become more fulfilled. There is no greater fulfillment living for the Lord.
