I don't want to be taken for granted or to be treated unfairly. I'm sure you feel the same.

Jacob realizes the favor he once had with Laban had changed. So, he tells Rachel and Leah, "I see your father's attitude, that it is not friendly toward me as formerly, but the God of my father has been with me. You know that I have served your father with all my strength. Yet your father has cheated me and changed my wages ten times; however, God did not allow him to hurt me." Gen 31:5-7

Jacob was taken advantage of and taken for granted by Laban for 20 years(v41). We never read of Jacob retaliating but being faithful even in difficult circumstances. As Laban is about to go even further, we read, "God came to Laban the Aramean in a dream of the night and said to him, "Be careful that you do not speak to Jacob either good or bad."" Gen 31:24

When we wait on the Lord we are blessed even when we're taken advantage of and for granted. Are you willing to suffer for the sake of Christ? Situations are each different so we must pray, ask for wisdom, and be obedient to the Spirit's leading no matter the circumstance. Let's be people who persevere and live in His presence!
