We've read some of the details of Jacob's life. Jacob was a trickster himself. Now, Jacob works seven years in order to marry the woman he loves only to be tricked by Laban. Gen 29:25 reads, "So it came about in the morning that, behold, it was Leah! And he said to Laban, "What is this you have done to me? Was it not for Rachel that I served with you? Why then have you deceived me?""

The seeds Jacob had once sown were now being reaped. He sowed trickery and deceit and now he was reaping similar. Paul writes in Gal 6:7, "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap." As true as gravity is physically, sowing and reaping is spiritually. We must ask ourselves what are we sowing into our marriage? Our family? In our workplace? As servants of the church?

Christ came, He lived. He loved, He died, and He resurrected so we could break free from our old lifestyles and sow into His eternal kingdom. Every day we get to serve Jesus. Let's be sowers of the kingdom of God in the lives of others. Let's pour into others heavenly grace, mercy, and love today. One day at a time let's choose to sow that good stuff, that godly stuff :)
