"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." Rom 8:28

Jacob had deceived his father. Esau wanted to kill Jacob. Jacob leaves his family and all he knew to steer clear of family strife. Yet in the middle of this season the Lord says to Jacob, "Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you." Gen 28:15

I'm not condoning Jacob's decisions, but even in the midst of sin the Lord remained faithful. The Lord continued His promise that started with Abraham years earlier.

Let's remember, the Lord uses the victories AND failures in our lives. It's much easier when we are obedient, but despite our sin He is still faithful. Do you know the Lord works in life's highs AND lows? This doesn't mean we continue to sin (Read Romans 6 for more understanding) but know the Lord's faithful even when we're not. Jacob made his life more difficult with his sin, but God's faithfulness reigned true regardless.
