Yahweh Yireh!

This is one of the top controversial passages in the Bible. Many have critiqued the Lord for what He says to Abraham.

Let's start backwards after Abraham's obedience, "blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice." Gen 22:17-18

The promise had already been given to Abraham. He just had to live this season of life. Notice Abraham's words he says "WE", "And Abraham said to his young men, "Stay here with the donkey; the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you." Gen 22:5

Abraham believed the Lord would provide the only needed to be obedient. I'm sure there were emotions and pleadings during this journey, but he was obedient. The blessing was already in place obedience just needed to be fulfilled.

We must also trust the Lord will provide even in moments where we don't fully understand. Maybe life's difficult right now, do you still trust God will provide? I pray we do.
