This is a tough chapter to read. Even tougher to grasp the depravity of the times. Lot had compromised to living in the midst of a perverse culture, it infiltrated his family, even to the point his sons-in-law didn't leave, and his wife didn't want to see the city be destroyed. His offspring (by his daughters) would eventually become a people group who would be enemies of Israel. In the middle of all that Lot was saved by God's mercy.

"And while he lingered, the men took hold of his hand, his wife's hand, and the hands of his two daughters, the Lord being merciful to him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city." Gen 19:16

The Lord was merciful to Lot even in his compromise, but his compromises affected his family. I'm grateful for the mercy and grace of God, I am sure you are too. But living in sin and compromising with sin is hurtful to ourselves and our families. It's His mercy and grace that propels us out of sin. Is the mercy and grace of God transforming your life? The way you treat and love others? Your habits and desires? Let's not live a life of comprise. Let's live in God's mercy and grace!
