“Let brotherly love continue. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.” Hebrews 13:1-2

Abraham saw three men standing by him. He quickly invited them in. Then had one of his servants quickly kill a young calf to prepare for a meal. He asked his wife Sarah to quickly prepare a meal of cakes as well. Sarah didn’t hesitate at the unexpected guest, but quickly jumped right to preparations. There will be times that we get the opportunity to show hospitality. It doesn’t take preparing a meal or having a house, it takes being willing to entertain a conversation, have a guest over, or be inconvenienced for others. Ask yourself, “Is this heart in me to entertain a stranger, am I willing to inconvenienced to serve the Lord?”

Abraham was and looked what was the other side of that decision. “And He said, “I will certainly return to you according to the time of life, and behold, Sarah your wife shall have a son.” (Sarah was listening in the tent door which was behind him.)” “Genesis 18:10”

The long-awaited answer to Abraham and Sarah’s prayers, the long-awaited fulfillment of a word spoken over Abraham’s life. Make sure that you aren’t entertaining looking for a blessing but looking TO BE a blessing, and let the Father handle the rest. You never know, extending that hand of love you could be the entertaining of an angel. Abraham did, may we each be found doing the same.
