Man, I'm thankful! I'm able to sit down with my Bible and God speaks. I can sit quietly and pray, and the Spirit of God helps me to commune with the Father.

We reach another defining moment in Abraham's life, "When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly."" Gen 17:1-2

Consider for a moment from the record of the Bible there wasn't an ongoing conversation between the Lord and Abraham. God first spoke to Abraham when he was 75 years old (Gen 12). God spoke a second time when Lot split from Abraham. Melchizedek meets w/Abraham and God reveals Himself in a vision. Now, God speaks to Abraham when he's 99. There's only a handful of times the Lord speaks to Abraham in 24 years.

However, we're able to commune with the Lord daily. We're able to talk to Him anytime about our days, thoughts, and difficulties. Do we though? Let's be people of His presence and prayer, of His Word and will. Let's commune with the Lord. It's a gift that's been given at a high cost. Will you spend time with Him today?
