"Follow Me" -Jesus

The Lord told Moses what the task was but didn't elaborate on the details. Now, as Moses and Aaron speak on behalf of the Lord to the Pharaoh unexpected things happen. The Pharaoh makes things harder for the Israelites but continues their regular quota. So, not only does the Pharaoh reject Moses and Aaron but the people do as well.

"When they left Pharaoh's presence, they met Moses and Aaron as they were waiting for them. They said to them, "May the Lord look upon you and judge you, for you have made us odious in Pharaoh's sight and in the sight of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to kill us."" Ex 5:20-21

Moses obedience wasn't turning out the way he thought it would. In verse 22-33 he even questions why the Lord is allowing this to happen. We can often find ourselves thinking and asking similar questions. The journey of obedience isn't the easiest path to follow. But as the Lord told Moses Jesus says to us, "Follow Me". At times following Jesus means we must die to ourselves and fully trust Him even in difficult moments (Luke 9:23-24).

Don't grow weary. Be obedient to the Lord's voice. His ways are higher than ours. Trust Jesus!
