Chances are you'll smell the aroma of cookouts soon which remind us it's warm weather time.

We learn about the priesthood and offerings of Israel. Also, the days and amount of offerings.

"Now this is what you shall offer on the altar: two one year old lambs each day, continuously. The one lamb you shall offer in the morning and the other lamb you shall offer at twilight;" Ex 29:38-39

Each morning and evening offerings were made. Some days there were more. At times there were additional offerings to be made. Can you imagine the smell of burning meat across the area? That aroma would be constant. That smell would have reminded them of the blood that was shed for their sins.

The sacrifice that was made for us (Jesus on the cross) happened 2,000 years ago. Hebrews says Jesus' sacrifice once and for all took all sin upon the cross. Unlike the Israelites we don't have an aroma to remind us each day. Have you forgotten what Christ did for you?

We can easily take for granted the gift of Jesus' life on the cross. Let's not forget. And let the cross be forever on our hearts as a love gift from Jesus. May the love of Christ and His sacrifice change how we love Him and others.
