Why wait?

Moses will take many trips up and down the mountain to meet w/God. Over the course of the next many chapters we will see this happen. On this trip Moses affirms the covenant between the Lord and Israel. We read, "Then Moses went up to the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain. The glory of the Lord rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it for six days; and on the seventh day He called to Moses from the midst of the cloud. And to the eyes of the sons of Israel the appearance of the glory of the Lord was like a consuming fire on the mountain top." Ex 24:15-17

It struck me even though Moses was told to come up he ended up waiting 6 days before finally going into the presence of the Lord. Moses waited. The Lord didn't tell him how long he would wait or why he was waiting Moses just had to wait. I've got to admit I might have many questions for the Lord. I wonder if I would have waited those 6 days. Moses ends up spending 40 days with God. When he comes down from the mountain His face glows from the Lord's presence.

I pray we learn to wait on the Lord. As we wait on the Lord there's a glowing glory of His presence that rests upon us. So, let's wait on the Lord!
