Israel has been in bondage for hundreds of years. They had no government of their own and as the Lord frees them from bondage he sets up a rule of law to help govern them. ""Now these are the ordinances which you are to set before them:" Ex 21:1
We all want fair judgment. We want justice. Yet we live in a nation and world today where it's just not possible. No matter what happens in any election true justice and judgement won't happen on this side of heaven. Those who haven't trusted in Jesus will never live under fair judgement and justice. It's a sad thought but one which is so true.
Multiple times in this scripture the Bible says, "if a man" and "if she does". It doesn't specify a name or status, just a person. Today, money and status can get one out of trouble. The only way true justice and judgment can be had is when all are treated equal. But there's hope of one day being in the presence of the Lord and full justice and judgement being had. Look to Jesus not to this world, it will leave you empty and wanting. Fulfillment only comes in Jesus!
