What does it mean to be a priest and holy?
It's been 3 months since they were freed from Egypt. The Lord tells Moses His heart for Israel, "Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine; and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.'" Ex 19:5-6
The Lord says He wants them to be priest and holy. What does that mean? Priest were representatives of the Lord. They heard from the Lord and shared His heart with others. Holiness means to be set apart from the world's standards and walk with the Lord. The Lord didn't just say this for one person BUT FOR EVERYONE. Did you know the Lord tells us the same today?
"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;" 1 Pet 2:9
We've been called out of darkness to speak about His marvelous light. The same call is on the church today. Let's spend time with the Lord and share of His marvelous light. You're His, tell somebody today!
