What wisdom! Read this passage many times but today see the wisdom here more than ever.
First, Moses testimony brings glory to the Lord. Jethro notices all the Lord has done for Moses and Israel. "So Jethro said, "Blessed be the Lord who delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians and from the hand of Pharaoh, and who delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians." Ex 18:10
Your testimony of the Lord's faithfulness is important to your friends and family, especially those who don't know Jesus!
Second, look at the wisdom Jethro shares with Moses. "Furthermore, you shall select out of all the people able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain; and you shall place these over them as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens." Ex 18:21
Jethro tells Moses to raise up leaders and delegate. This is the role of saints in the church. Every gift we've been given is to lead others into being kingdom minded. Paul even wrote of this in Eph. 4:11-14.
The gifts the Lord has given you should be used to teach others. All we have are resources to lead others to Jesus. Use what the Lord has given you for His Kingdom.
