Father help us to trust You. Help us to remember how You've provided faithfully in our past. Show us where we're lacking in trust, and help us to lean into Your Spirit. In Jesus name...
"This is what the Lord has commanded, 'Gather of it every man as much as he should eat; you shall take an omer apiece according to the number of persons each of you has in his tent.' "" Ex 16:16
Have you thought about what the Lord was asking. The Israelites were in an area where food couldn't be grown readily and water wasn't easily accessible. There were millions of Israelites at this time. And the Lord tells them to take only what they need each day, no more. Every day they were to trust there would be enough for the day... EVERY DAY! I also wonder if they just took it for granted the Lord did it so faithfully. Did it get old? Did they continue in thankfulness? Would we do the same? Do we do the same?
First, let's be thankful for the Lord's past provisions. Let's remind ourselves He is currently providing, and let's look to Him with wonder and worship of His continued provision.
