Jesus commentated the Passover recorded in Exodus. He took the Passover meal w/His disciples prior to His betrayal. The Passover is still remembered today. Ultimately, the shed blood of an innocent lamb would be the precursor to understanding the shed blood of Jesus on the cross!
"The blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you live; and when I see the blood I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt." Ex 12:13
The blood on the doorpost would signify no wrath would fall upon those inside. The blood of Jesus does the same for us. About 2000 years ago Jesus was close to His death. He chose to die for the wrath against sin to be satisfied. Israel had a choice, Egypt had a choice, and we have a choice.
There are people in our lives who haven't made the decision to put their faith in Jesus' atoning sacrifice. How many chances did Egypt have yet in the darkness tragedy struck. As the world gets darker Jesus gives us the chance to be the light of the world. Let's be about seeing people be transferred from the kingdom of darkness into His light. This life isn't about us its about the Father!
