The root of...

Esther fasting, praying, and walking in the Lord's wisdom yielded to the His will. "And the king said to Esther on the second day also as they drank their wine at the banquet, "What is your petition, Queen Esther..."" Esther 7:2

Esther didn't seek wisdom from the world. As she went to the king she was putting her life in danger. This wasn't a selfish decision. She sought the Lord and responded to His leading. Haman on the other hand was self focused and prideful. He walked in the wisdom of the world, James writes to us, "For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing." James 3:16

Regardless of the momentary circumstances the Lord and His goodness prevailed. And it always will! Man, I want to be a part of all of His goodness, how about you? What's the root of your decisions: selfish ambition or for the goodness of God to be spread?

Let's be encouraged to live for the Lord and His glory. Let's encourage one another as the church to live for His glory. Come on church!

Father, help us to not be self centered in our thoughts and actions. Help us to live for Your glory. Amen.
