In the quietness of your heart would you pray with me, "Father, search my heart. Help me to see if there is any hatred, bitterness, and self seeking in me. Bring it to my knowledge and help me to release it fully to You. In Jesus name, Amen"

We read about Mordecai not bowing down to Haman, Haman quickly finds out and goes to the extreme. Instead of taking his issue up with Mordecai he "...sought to destroy all the Jews, the people of Mordecai, who were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus." Esther 3:6

Years earlier Saul (a Jew) was supposed to destroy the Amalekites but didn't. Haman was an ancestor of the Amalekites. His family lineage held bitterness and hatred in their heart for the Jews and it caused Haman to want to destroy them.

One of the most dangerous things we can do is hold self seeking, hatred, and bitterness. They're like weighty stones that paralyze us. Left unchecked these things destroy relationships and deplete our inner soul. Would you pray and ask the Lord to reveal your heart to you, and (the next step is critical), make amends with others, repent, forgive, and ask forgiveness. None of this is worth your time or energy or even your soul.
