Solomon writes, “If the clouds are full of rain, They empty themselves upon the earth; And if a tree falls to the south or the north, In the place where the tree falls, there it shall lie. He who observes the wind will not sow, And he who regards the clouds will not reap.” Ecclesiastes 11:3-4

Solomon is saying when one thing happens there’s an obvious cause. A cloud full will cause rain. A tree fallen there it will lie. He then makes the case of one whose decisions are based upon certain factors will not reap.

The same is true with us. I’m not advocating for being unreasonable, but I am advocating for us living a life of faith. It’s what we’ve been called to. Your salvation alone is supernatural. It’s beyond the wisdom of the world. Let’s live beyond cause and effect. We are filled with the Holy Spirit. Empowered to be ambassadors of the kingdom of heaven. Let’s live in that!

Sow the heavenly seed of power, love, and grace. Watch as the Lord does beyond case and effect. Paraphrasing Ephesians 5:17-21, be wise, walk in the Spirit, speak scripture over yourself and others, keep a constant melody of praise, always give thanks, be in community. These things are supernatural and work beyond cause and effect. They are built in faith and affect eternal change.
