This is the record of Moses and Israel we read about in Deuteronomy but let me assure you it always points to Jesus.

As the Lord tells them of a greater possession (v1) remember Church the Lord is our great possession. We may face battles in life (v3) but remember Church the Lord goes before us. We aren’t saved because of our righteous (v4) but remember Church it’s because of the goodness and promises of the Lord. We have turned aside from the ways of the Lord and deserve His wrath (v13-16) but remember Church He has sent an advocate on our behalf.

Moses was a blessing to Israel and the giver of the law. We see similarities between Moses and the coming Messiah for sure. Later in Deuteronomy 18:15 we will read, “The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear,”. This is speaking of Jesus. A blessing Israel had in Moses but Church how blessed are we because of Jesus?! “Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.” Jude 1:24-25

Blessed indeed! May we each take some time today to just thank and praise Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
