What or who was Moses living for? It’s evident by his choices and responses.

Moses continues recording their travels in the wilderness, “Thus we took the land at that time from the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the valley of Arnon to Mount Hermon” Deuteronomy 3:8

Moses was raised in Pharaoh’s palace, traveled in the wilderness for 40 years, then lead Israel to the brink of the Promised Land. During that time Moses misrepresented the character of the Lord and was told he won’t enter the promised land. The Lord not only doesn’t allow Moses to enter the promised land but also tells him, “But charge Joshua and encourage him and strengthen him, for he shall go across at the head of this people, and he will give them as an inheritance the land which you will see.” Deuteronomy 3:28

Moses’ whole life led to the promised land, yet he only got to see it from a distance. Moses doesn’t seem to question the Lord’s plan. Why? Because he was living for a greater promise and a greater name.

Even when we plead with the Lord and our requests aren’t answered the way we ask how do we respond? When we set our heart on living for His great name and eternity with Him it helps us to stay steadfast no matter the scenario. What’s your heart set on? Or who is your heart set on? Hebrews 12:1-2
