Imagine being so caught up in what you have and your position in life you ignore the Lord.

Sound crazy? We can all be guilty of this.

Belshazzur is the son of King Nebby. After some ruler changes at the end of Nebuchadnezzar's 43 year reign Belshazzur rules a region of Babylon. Babylon is much weaker at this point and this is near the end of their reign.

Belshazzur knew about dreams of his father and yet didn't remember Daniel according to verse 11-12. He was so full of himself and his possessions that, "They drank the wine and praised the gods of gold and silver, of bronze, iron, wood and stone." Dan 5:4

Imagine that? Praising one's possessions and positions in life to the point of not recognizing where those blessings come from. Imagine that?

Well, what about you and me? Do you recognize where your blessings flow from? Do you know what you have and who you have in your life isn't guaranteed tomorrow? What about us being thankful for our blessings and the those in our lives today?

Let's thank the Lord and recognize where our blessings come from today. Maybe, even text or call a few people in your life. Let them know you're thankful for them and thankful for the blessings in your life as well.
