“nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”” Luke 17:21

Someone shared a quote from a commentary with me the other day, “if we woke up every morning and actually sat with the thought that Christ was in us, then we would be confident in anything we were doing that day.”

Consider these apostles in Acts 3. What faith it took for Peter to look this lame man in the eye and say, “Look at us.” and then say, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”” Acts 3:4, 6

At the Passover Jesus sat with His disciples and instituted communion speaking of the coming kingdom. Then Jesus willingly hung on the cross as folks stood around ridiculing and shaming Him right after He had been beaten beyond recognition. His body, His blood shed to rid the wrath you and I deserved.

Before Jesus death, burial, and resurrection Peter didn’t live or speak with the power he did now; neither did John. The debt of sin was settled by Jesus on the cross along with making us righteous. When we put our faith in His substitution it makes way for the Spirit of God to live in and through us. Truly the kingdom of God is within us.

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”” Acts 1:8

Remember, the power of His death and resurrection enables us to be witnesses of the grace, mercy, and love of Jesus. Be bold in your witness of Jesus’ grace in your city and beyond. It starts where you live, work, and play so today be that witness! Mentioning your name in prayer to Him as I send this to you!
