“This man might have been set free if he had not appealed to Caesar.” -King Agrippa to Festus in Acts 26:32

Paul is speaking before King Agrippa, Bernice, and Festus along with many others and what does he say? Paul says he was once against the ways of Jesus. Jesus then revealed Himself to Paul to purpose in him to be a minister and witness of salvation through Jesus. Paul then testifies he tells all they should repent, turn to God, and do the works befitting repentance(v20). He reminds them this is exactly what the prophets of old prophesied as well(v22-23).

King Agrippa says to Paul, “You almost persuade me to be a Christian.” Paul stands before him in chains. Who was really free and who was really in chains though? Paul put his faith in Christ and was free from the world’s system which King Agrippa was held captive to. So, when King Agrippa says, “This man might have been set free if he had not appealed to Caesar.” the spiritual reality is the exact opposite.

Today, if you have placed your faith in Jesus’ atoning death and resurrection you’re more free than you’ve ever been. Pray for those around you to have true freedom by putting their faith in Christ.

For those where your faith is somewhere else you are in chains. I pray for you to know the Truth and to be set free from Satan’s grasp. You’re more bound than you realize. Ask the Lord to reveal Himself to you for He is faithful and full of truth.
