If no one stands with you…
Paul recognizes his time is short. You can sense that as you read his closing remarks to young Timothy. Those in ministry with Paul had left his side: Demas had forsaken him (v10), others had left, Alexander had done him harm (v14), and he writes, “At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them.” 2 Timothy 4:16
Ministry is tough sometimes. Life can be difficult. There are times where you feel alone and/or are alone physically. But read what Paul writes next, “But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!” 2 Timothy 4:17-18
If not, one stands with you remember the Lord does! We need to remember if trying times, we are the Lord’s kids, and He is with us. Be encouraged in your season. The Lord is faithful through and through. Today, remember He is with you!
