Delivered…in the midst or on the other side!
In his instruction to Timothy Paul writes about the difficult days that lie ahead. It’s a large list that speaks to people turning away from the Lord and turning towards being “lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God”.
We could be tempted to focus on the difficult day part, but Paul reminds Timothy of something greater, “But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, persecutions, afflictions, …And out of them all the Lord delivered me.” 2 Timothy 3:10-11
Paul went through a lot during his days on this earth, persecution and affliction, but his testimony is of being delivered by them ALL. It’s true for you and me as well. We can be on difficult days or just on the other side, but our focus should be on the Lord and His faithfulness as a deliverer. Take a moment to consider how great the Lord has been to you. He’s delivered us from the sin that held us captive, and He continues to be active on the daily basis so let’s remember and give Him praise!
