Paul having only spent a short time with the church at Thessalonica had taught them about Jesus future return. He writes to them, "Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?" 2 Thess 2:5

He is reminding them to rest in knowing they had not missed Christ's return. In this he shared solid theology about salvation. "But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ." 2 Thess 2:13-14

The next word written is, "Therefore"! Paul is teaching them to be confident in their salvation and Holy Spirit's continued work in their lives. They were chosen beforehand. And the same is true for us. Is there evidence of Holy Spirit's work in your life? If so... be confident of Jesus in you because He is! The evidence of the Holy Spirit's work in you could be loving more, praying or encouraging someone, or even the desire or conviction to do or not do a certain thing, Stand fast in Jesus. He's working in your life!
