PPP, the 3 P's!
Paul dealt with questions about loved ones passing before Jesus' resurrection 1 Thessalonians. This letter deals with the return of Jesus.
Paul writes, "Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power, that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ." 2 Thess 1:11-12
They were dealing with trials in their life and Paul was writing to encourag them. In verse 3-7 Paul writes about being encouraged by their walk w/Jesus in the midst of all this. Trials do not make us who we are, they reveal what we are. How we respond in the midst of problems, persecutions, and pain are evidence of Jesus' work in our lives.
Prov 25:4 says, "Take away the dross from silver, And it will go to the silversmith for jewelry."
These things show us the dross in our lives. They help us to see what's inside us. Some of the greatest witness of Jesus is how we handle the 3 P's. What does this look like in your life? Let's let our trials speak of Jesus' work in our lives and glorify His great name.
